Words of Remembrance after the Tasleem قال الله تعالى: ”فإذا قضيتم الصلاة فاذكروا الله قياما و قعودا و على جنوبكم ...“ النساء: 103 “ And when you have completed the prayer, remember Allah standing, sitting, or lying on your sides…” 4/103
The Hadith of Thawban: “When Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) would finish his prayer, he would seek Allah’s forgiveness 3 times and then say: “O Allah, You are the Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, Owner of Majesty and Generosity.” (The Group except albukhari) 1ـ حديث ثوبان: ”كان رسول الله –صلى الله عليه و سلم- إذا انصرف من صلاته استغفر الله ثلاثا و قال: اللهم أنت السلام و منك السلام ، تباركت يا ذا الجلال و الإكرام“ رواه الجماعة إلا البخاري Words of Remembrance after the Tasleem
Muslim added: “Alwaleed said, “I asked Al-Awzaai’: “How did he seek Allah’s forgiveness?’ He said, “By saying, “I seek Allah’s forgiveness, I seek Allah’s forgiveness, I seek Allah’s forgiveness.” زاد مسلم: ”فقال الوليد: فقلتللأوزاعي: كيف الاستغفار؟ قال: يقول: أستغفر الله ، أستغفر الله ، أستغفر الله“ Continued
One day the Prophet took Mua’th ibn Jabal’s hand and said to him, “O Mua’th, I love you.” Mua’th responded, “May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah, I love you too.” عن معاذ بن جبل – رضي الله عنه- أن النبي – صلى الله عليه و سلم – أخذ بيده يوما ثم قال: يا معاذ إني لأحبك، فقال له معاذ : بأبي أنت و أمي يا رسول الله، و أنا أحبك. Then the Prophet (pbuh) said, “I advise you, O Mua’th, say at the end of every prayer, ‘O Allah, help me in Your remembrance, in thanking You, and in perfecting Your worship.’ (Ahmed/others) قال: أوصيك يا معاذ: لا تدعن في دبر كل صلاة أن تقول: اللهم أعني على ذكرك و شكرك و حسن عبادتك“ رواه أحمد و آخرون Continued
Abdullah ibn az-Zubair ® said: When the Prophet made tasleem at the end of the prayer, he would say: “There is none worthy of worship except Allah, Alone, without partners. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him is due all praise. ”كان رسول الله – صلى الله عليه و سلم – إذا سلم في دبر كل صلاة يقول: لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له ، له الملك و له الحمد، Continued
He is able to do all things. There is no might or power save with Allah. There is no god except Allah and we worship none but Him. To Him belongs all Grace and all Bounty and He is worthy of all praise. و هو على كل شيء قدير، لا حول و لا قوة إلا بالله، لا إله إلا الله و لا نعبد إلا إياه، له النعمة و له الفضل و له الثناء الحسن، Continued
There is no god except Allah, and religion is sincerely devoted for Him, even if, the disbelievers abhor it.” (M/others) لا إله إلا الله مخلصين له الدين و لو كره الكافرون“ رواه مسلم Continued
Al-Mugheerah ibn Shu’bah ® wrote to Mu’aawiyah ®: “When the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) finished the prayer and pronounced the tasleem, he would say: عن المغيرة بن شعبة – رضي الله عنه -: أن رسول الله – صلى الله عليه و سلم – كان يقول في دبر كل صلاة مكتوبة : Words of Remembrance
“There is none worthy of worship except Allah, Alone, without any partner. To Him belongs the Sovereignty, to Him is due all praise, and He is Able to do all things. ”لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك، له الملك و له الحمد و هو على كل شيء قدير، Continued
O’, Allah! No one can withhold what You give, or give what You withhold, and riches/might/power cannot avail its owner with You.” (B/M) اللهم لا مانع لما أعطيت، و لا معطي لما منعت، و لا ينفع ذا الجد منك الجد.“ Continued
Abu Huraira ® said that the Prophet (pbuh) said: “Whoever said at the end of every prayer, [Subhaan Allah] 33 times, and [Al-Hamdu lillah] 33 times, and [Allahu Akbar] 33 times- making 99 in all, عن أبي هريرة –رضي الله عنه – أن النبي – صلى الله عليه و سلم- قال: ”من سبّح دبر كل صلاة ثلاثا و ثلاثين، و حمد الله ثلاثا و ثلاثين، و كبّر الله ثلاثا و ثلاثين، تلك تسع و تسعون، Continued
- then completed the hundred by saying: “ There is none worthy of worship except Allah, Alone, without any partner. To Him belongs the sovereignty, to Him is due all praise, and He is Able to do all things.” ثم قال تمام المائة: ”لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك و له الحمد و هو على كل شيء قدير، Continued
will have his sins forgiven, even if they were as much as the foam on the waves of the sea.” (Muslim) غفرت خطاياه و إن كانت مثل زبد البحر“ رواه مسلم Continued
Hadith: “Whoever recites Ayatul-Kursi (al-Baqarah:255) at the end of every prayer, nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise except that he must die first.” (Nasai’/classified as saheeh by al-Albaani and Ibn Baaz.) عن أبي أمامة –رضي الله عنه – أن النبي – صلى الله عليه و سلم – قال: ”من قرأ آية الكرسي دبر كل صلاة لم يمنعه من دخول الجنة إلا أن يموت.“ رواه النسائي و صححه الألباني و ابن الباز. Ayatul-Kursi
Hadith: The Prophet (pbuh) said: ‘Recite surah Al-Ikhlas, and the last two surahs 3times in every evening and every morning, they will suffice you.” (Tirmithi/Abu Dawood). It’s classified as saheeh. 1- حديث عبد الله بن خبيب –رضي الله عنه- أن النبي – صلى الله عليه و سلم – قال: ” قل: [قل هو الله أحد] و المعوذتين حين تمسي و تصبح ثلاث مرّات تكفيك من كل شيء.“ الترمذي و أبوداود وهو صحيح The Last Three Surahs.
Hadith: O’qbah bin Aamir ® said: Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) has commanded me to recite (al-Mua’withaat) (the last 3 surahs) at the end of every prayer.” (Ahmed/Abu Dawood) It is classified as saheeh. عن عقبة بن عامر – رضي الله عنه- قال: ”أمرني رسول – صلى الله عليه و سلم – أن أقرأ بالمعوذات في دبر كل صلاة.“ (أحمد و أبوداود و هو صحيح) Continued
continued • Conclusion: The last 3 surahs should be recited once at the end of every prayer, except for Maghrib and Fajr, they should be recited 3 times. Allah knows best. • We are also supposed to recite the following words of remembrance 10 times after Fajr and Maghrib Prayers. They should be recited before reciting Ayatul-Kursi and the last 3 surahs. ”لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك و له الحمد يحيي و يميت و هو على كل شيء قدير.“
