  36. Service ecosystem

  37. Application Layer • User interface info given to/provided by the user • Standard or generic Web Services to beused • Business actorsinvolved in the web service provision • Whowillbedeveloping the application (gadgets/UI/web services)

  38. FI-WARE & OUTSMART

  39. FI-Ware mapping over OutSmart Arch. Fi-Ware GEs that are currently being considered as candidates for being integrated in Outsmart. • Research on Fi-Ware GEs is in progress. • Not all candidates will be integrated. • Other GEs not listed here will be considered in the future.

  40. IoT.Backend.Devicehandling Provides the resource-level management of remote assets. Provides communication capabilities such as basic IP connectivity and management of disconnected devices. • No longer exists. • Substitute: • IoT.Backend.Devicemanagment?

  41. IoT.Backend.IoTBroker The IoTBroker GE is a point of contact to user applications exposing functionalities provided by the backend • No longer exists. • Substitute: Data.PubSub?

  42. IoT.Backend.ThingsAndResourcesManagement It provides functionality to identify, address and discover Things and IoT Resources • No longer exists. • Substitute: • IoT.Backend.ThingsManagement (Revised - Underconstruction)?

  43. IoT.Gateway.ProtocolAdapter The Protocol Adapter GE deals with the incoming and outgoing traffic and messages between the Gateway and Devices registered to be served by the gateway. • Recently added, needs further research.

  44. IOT.Gateway.DataHandlingNew • Local storage component. • Data pooling component. • Data access policy component. • Recently added. Needs further research. • Formed by several components. • Could apply to several Outsmart architecture boxes.

  45. Data.MetadataPreprocessing • Metadata Preprocessing GE acts as a mediator between the various stakeholders. • Expectations: • Versatile in its capabilities.

  46. Data.QueryBroker The QueryBroker is a middleware used to establish unified retrieval of data. Comments: Data.PubSub could cover this GE needs for outsmart.

  47. Apps.Repository A service provider can use the Repository to publish the description of the service according to a uniform description language. Quite similar to Service repository definition in Outsmart.

  48. Apps.USDL USDL (Uniform Service Description Language) is a platform-neutral language for describing services. Quite similar to Service Description Meta-Model in Outsmart where a minimal set of USDL elements are going to be selected and some extensions have been provided in order to better specify web-services in Outsmart domain

  49. Apps.CompositionEditorApps.CompositionExecution Both of them conform the Composition Provider. • Quite similar functionalities to those requested by Outsmart.
