TGad Channel Model Update Date: 2010-05-17 Authors: Alexander Maltsev, Intel
Abstract • This presentation gives an overview of the new completed items for TGad channel model for the Enterprise Cubicle environment. Description of these items can be found in new revision 08 of TGad channel model document (11-09-0334-08-00ad-channel-models-for-60-ghz-wlan-systems). Alexander Maltsev, Intel
Modification of Inter Cluster Parameters for TGad Channel Models • Modification for reflection loss coefficients has been made. Log-normal distribution functions for reflection loss coefficients (Gaussian in dB scale) were replaced with truncated log-normal distributions (truncated Gaussian in dB scale) to meet physical restrictions. • Measurement data, provided by NICT [1] shown that double reflection cluster from the table and then the ceiling for near location scenario in the Enterprise Cubicle environment should be taken into account. It has the impact on the channel impulse response. The double reflection cluster was introduced in the channel model. Inter cluster parameters estimated by ray-tracing method are in a good accordance with experimental data [1]. Alexander Maltsev, Intel
Intra Cluster Parameters for Enterprise Cubicle Channel Model • Based on the measurement data presented in [1], it was estimated that for near location LOS scenario in the Enterprise Cubicle environment the double reflection from the table and then the ceiling may be modeled as a one-ray cluster and the intra cluster distribution is not required. • For modeling intra cluster distributions for reflections from office and cubicle walls the same approach was used as developed one for the CR and LR channel models. Alexander Maltsev, Intel
Conclusion • All three channel models for Conference Room, Living Room and Enterprise Cubicle environments are now fully completed and satisfy all requirements for 60 GHz WLAN systems: • Provide accurate space-time characteristics of the propagation channel, • Support beamforming with steerable directional antennas on both TX and RX sides with no limitation on the antenna technology, • Take into account polarization characteristics of antennas and signals, • Support dynamical characteristics of the propagation channel arising from people motion.
