Yes it did because the artists impression of things would be displayed. • Photography is only used to capture the moment but art is used to tell tales of the past, present and future. The development of photography confused this issue even more.Did art still have a role to play?
If you found a shell and polished it up and arranged it with some other ‘found’ objects, is that art? No because all you have done is shined it and placed it on a shelf. Art is about self expression and inner thoughts. • If a photo is more ‘real’ than the most realistic painting why would anyone try to represent something you can photograph in paint? For enjoyment and to show their perspective of things and how they see it.
Is a photograph a ‘true’ representation or reality? Is photography a type of art? Can photos ‘lie’? Photos can lie because they can be edited to present something that is not true. A photograph is a true representation of reality because the photo was captured from a real scene. There are two sides to whether photography is a type of art. Some say no because there is no talent or creativity involved. While others disagree because there are many type of photography like art. For example:
My definition of art: Art is a piece of work created by someone. Their inner thoughts and self expression is visible in art. You don’t have to be an artist to create a work of art. What place does truth have in art? There is no place for truth in art because art is about self expression and inner thoughts. You create what you feel and use your imagination.

Dear diary, Today's art lesson really got me thinking. The teacher said art was self expression, but I always thought art was about drawing and painting the perfect picture. I asked my mum, what is art? The response I got was simple, whatever you put on paper. This is what my teacher said. There are many types of art including animation, architecture, collage, drawing, mosaic, sculpture, stained glass and graphic art. There is also abstract art which interests me most. I have decided when I grow up I’m going to be an abstract artist.
What might have influenced the ‘truth’ he represented about himself over time? As he aged he needed to represent this in his artworks. That was the truth, he was getting older and his appearance changed. Rembrandt

I think this painting is realistic with an abstract touch. You can depict the scene but the colours, lines and characters are free and abstract. What is my opinion?
