  2. BOBS is the officially designated WTO/TBT Enquiry Point for Botswana • Serves as a referral service focal point in Botswana for domestic technical regulations, standards & conformity assessment procedures.

  3. Process of preparation • Draft prepared & circulated among the following: • BOBS Senior Management • Ministry of Trade & Industry (responsible for the implementation of the WTO Agreements in Botswana) • WTO TBT

  4. Reference materials used • A Handbook on the TBT Agreement (heading – Transparency requirements & procedures) • Standards Act, 1995 (lists the functions & obligations of BOBS)

  5. Challenges Encountered • Lack of awareness and implications of not complying to the WTO TBT Agreement resulting in delayed response • Senior Management for Enquiry Point • Ministry of Trade and Industry
