Mission & Objectives • Founded in 2005 with a mission dedicated to the betterment of the car rental industry by supporting and promoting sensible legislation that will benefit all its members. • Advocate and lobby on behalf of the car rental industry with elected officials, consumer advocates and other key stakeholders at the federal and state levels. • Analyzing and reporting on federal, state and local laws. • Provide strategic media communications and consistent public “voice” via the ACRA website, the annual Car Rental Show, and newsletters. • Develop and implement industry standards.

Current Legislative Issues • HR 4175 – (2010 Bill currently being redrafted) – A bill to protect consumers from discriminatory State taxes on motor vehicle rentals • The Coalition Against Discriminatory Car Rental Taxes • The Graves Amendment (Repealed State Vicarious Liability Laws); Facing current challenges • SB 1401 – Arizona Liability • HB 1058 – Maryland Liability • Florida legislature challenging foreign driver’s license insurance coverage • King County, Washington Stadium Tax

Awareness • Invited to sit on Congressional Tourism Caucus. • Attended breakfast with Transportation Secretary LaHood. • Featured on Rudy Maxa Radio Show (syndicated nationwide) to discuss airport taxation in our industry. • Solicited Chris Elliot (National Travel Editor for CNBC.com) to testify on behalf of our industry over taxation. • Testified in Maryland on behalf of HB 1058 • Lobbying in DC to garner support of taxation issues; meeting with Senators and Congressmen.
