  3. Our Mission “The mission of the El Paso High School Dual Language program is to be the district leader in producing exemplary graduates through creative educational experiences via a bicultural, bi-literate, bilingual environment.”

Program Goals • Mastery of a 2nd and/or 3rd language • Graduate DAP • Graduate with Seal of Bi-Literacy • Earn credit for at least 5 courses in Spanish (Minor’s degree in Spanish) • Translation certification (UTEP or University of Arizona) • Have mastery of most requested skill that can be used for any profession (Spanish Language)

  12. Magnet Pathways • 3 Pathways: Green, Blue, Black • Students are placed on a Pathway based on the following criteria: • Secondary Language (L2) skill level • Overall 50% Spanish, 50% English course load • Sufficient Rigor • College Career and Readiness interests

  21. How to Apply • Complete 2013-2014 Application Packet: • Application • 3 most recent semester grades and attendance • Copy of utility bill • Oxford University Language Center (OULC) On-Line Spanish Placement Test • Teacher recommendation

  22. Conditionally Accepted if: • 3 semester cumulative GPA is 80% or better • 3 semester attendance rate is 90% or better • Minimum level 2 on 7th grade STAAR • Minimum score of 25 or better on OULC • Must reside within EPISD attendance zone
