  5. DOL (10 min) • Years ago you would have been heartily welcomed in this village, and hope you can find safety now. • It was clear to me that he know his days would soon be over and he didn’t bother to be afraid of himself.

  6. Fixing HW for more points (15 min) Please pick 2 errors from each page, tell me why you got it wrong, and how to get it right You will get 2 extra points per page…..for a total of 8 extra credit points

  9. DOL • As I was thinking about these things I falls out of my hammock. (2 errors) • The pots were moldy and there were a small storage house. (2 errors)

  10. ACT Practice • We will do numbers 4/5/6 together • Then we will read a paragraph and add an introduction sentence to it. Achieving personal power is helpful for someone who pretends to be more confident than he really is. For example, one of my friends threw a party at his house last month. He asked me to come to his party and bring a date. However, I didn’t have a girlfriend. One of my other friends, who had a date to go to the party with, asked me about my date. I didn’t want to be embarrassed, so I claimed that I had a lot of work to do. I said I could easily find a date even better than his if I wanted to. I also told him that his date was ugly. I achieved power to help me feel confident; however, I embarrassed my friend and his date. Although this lie helped me at the time, since then it has made me look down on myself.
