Interviewer: I see you have an iPhone. But I can’t give up my Blackberry. Xin: I just purchased the 4s and am quite happy with it. From a strategic perspective, RIM, Blackberry’s maker, seems to be struggling. Interviewer: You’re right about that. Why do you think that’s the case?

Mock interview #3-small talk portion of interview Xin: Well, I suspect that technical issues, such as difficult navigation, and market issues, such as rapid Apple and Android growth among consumers, are behind RIM’s decline. Interviewer: And seeing RIM’s weakness, app development houses, consumers, and even organizations are jumping ship. Xin: Exactly. Historically, we’ve seen this pattern before in a host of industries. It happens when a company gets too comfortable with its success and doesn’t pay enough attention to changing consumer preferences and market developments.
