CDC’s Safe Water for Community Health (Safe WATCH) Program Purpose: to support Health Departments to enhance Safe Drinking Water Programsthat serve users of private wells (PWs) and other federally unregulated drinking water systems (UDWSs). Goal: to assess and reduce human exposure to contaminants in drinking water supplied by UDWSs/PWs.

ChangeLab Solutions Finishing work on three products: Guide – introduces the policymaking process as one way to improve drinking water in private wells (water, infrastructure, and people) Fact Sheet and Infographic – identify the physical components of private well water systems and state-level policies that apply to those physical components to improve drinking water quality. Rollout will occur on July 22, 2019 http://www.changelabsolutions.org/publications/closing-water-quality-gap

  14. The Private Water Network (PWN) The PWN is moving closer to a hard launch based on all the support and participation from Safe WATCH partners. More from the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) later this morning.

  15. Project officer update • Please direct the following to Connie: • Questions or intentions to subcontract. • Questions about Carry Forward or No Cost Extensions. • Two more reports to complete, Financial Report and End of Project Report – pay attention to deadlines. • Technical monitor calls will occur quarterly: • Starting September 2019, frequency will be reduced to once a quarter, unless you would prefer to keep your schedule.
