Visual and Logical Learners Happy Appies Tara, Meredith, Emily, Michelle, and Jill
How does this presentation fit visual/logical learners and hypermedia? • This project incorporates” • the visual media (colors and pictures) preferred by visual learners • the logical progression and organization of ideas preferred by logical learners • the graphics, audio, and non linear style used in hypermedia
Directions: • This is a non-linear slide show. You decide where you want to go, and what you want to learn!
Table of Contents: • HappyAppies as Learners • What are Visual Learners? • Hypermedia Examples for Visual Learners • What are Logical Learners? • Hypermedia Examples for Logical Learners • Example of Visual hypermedia
What type of learners are we? • Tara • Jill • Meredith • Michelle • Emily Back to Table of Contents
~Tara • Highest: Logical- I am an organizer who often spends as much time creating lists about how to do an assignment as actually doing the assignment. • Lowest: Aural- although I love music, I work best in quiet places. Next Person Back to “What types of learners are we?”
~Jill • Highest- Social- I am a social person that needs interaction. • Lowest- Logical- Math is my worst subject. I wish I was more organized and focused. Next Person Back to “What types of learners are we?”
~Meredith • Highest: Social-I enjoy social interaction during grad school and would not enjoy a solely online course • Lowest: Verbal- Written expression and communicating my thoughts has always been a struggle for me. Next Person Back to “What types of learners are we?”
~Michelle • Highest: Visual- I love charts that let me “see” the information • Lowest: Social- I enjoy solidarity and having time to think things over. Next Person Back to “What types of learners are we?”
~Emily • Highest: Social/Verbal/Solitary – It is interesting I am social and solitary at the same time. I guess it depends on the activity. • Lowest: Aural- I have never been an auditory learner so I definitely agree this would be my lowest learning style Back to “What types of learners are we?”
What are Visual Learners? • Pictures, maps, images help organize information for these learners to see and learn. • Normally has a good since of direction and can read a map well • Students who are visual learners need to see things written on the whiteboard • A visual learner learns better from seeing a demonstration or video rather than just hearing about something.
