Theme Verse Deut 30 15 "See, I have set before you today life & good, death & evil, 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, & to keep His commandments, His statutes, & His judgments, that you may live & multiply; & the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.

  2. 1) God’s Calling to Us Affirms Our Value- I Cor 1 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, & the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

  3. 1) God’s Calling to Us Affirms Our Value- I Cor 1 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, & God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty

  4. God’s calling to us does not depend on the talent or education in us. God works in us by His choice & according to His purpose & intentions.

  6. Calling affirms our value to God 1 Peter 2 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

  7. Calling affirms our value to God 1 Peter 2 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

  8. Calling affirms our value to ourselves II Tim 1 8 So don't be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, or of me His prisoner. Instead, share in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power of God, HCSB

  9. Calling affirms our value to ourselves II Tim 1 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose & grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began. HCSB

  10. Do I believe that God calls me because He values me?

  11. 2) God’s Calling Gives Us Direction & Hope- Phil 3 12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

  16. 2) Our Character – I Tim 6 11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, & pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance & gentleness. NIV

  17. 2) Our Character – I Tim 6 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. NIV

  18. 3) Our Ministry- I Cor 12 6 And there are different ways that God works through people but the same God. God works in all of us in everything we do. 7 Something from the Spirit can be seen in each person, for the common good. NCV

  19. Am I living out my calling that God has worked in me? Am I loving God because He works in & through me?
