This is a collection of public schools that are funded by the New York state government. ¢Advantage: Large campus with many choices of study. ¢Names of some of the SUNY schools: - Albany University - Binghamton University - Stony Brook University - SUNY Purchase College - SUNY New Paltz

This is a collection of public school that is funded by city government. ¢Advantage: They are easier to afford and closer to home. ¢Name of some of the CUNY colleges: - Baruch College - City College of New York - Hunter College - John Jay College of Criminal Justice - Queensborough Community College (QCC)

They take it for the first time in the spring of 11th grade and in the fall of his/her 12th grade year.
