  3. Cangallo is a town in southern Peru, located in the Ayacucho region. This region was on of the hardest hit by an internal conflict in Peru. .

  4. Ayacucho is famous for its 33 churches, which represent one for each year of Jesus’ life. The city’s economy is based on agriculture and light manufatures, including textiles, pottery leather goods and filigree ware. A retablo piece of art from Ayacucho.

  5. Children in Cangallo • The Ayacucho province was devastated by violence during the 80’s and 90’s. Many innocent children were caught in the wave of destruction, and the region still has not recovered. • The children eat only one meal a day. • Their parents straggle to give their children clothes to wear
