THE ANGEL PORTAL • Each user has his/her own portal or homepage in ANGEL • The portal opens with the My Profile page • This page contains three divisions • My Courses: A listing of the courses in which the user is currently registered • My Groups: A listing of the groups in which the user is a member or which he/she has initiated. • My Toolbox: The personal tools available to the user. MY COURSES / MY GROUPS • When you select a course, you are automatically directed to the course syllabus. • The course syllabus is placed in a pedagogically sound template for consistency across all courses. • When you select a group, you are automatically directed to the group description. • Each group description is unique to the use and design of the group. COURSE & GROUP CONTENT • ALL Course Content areas begin with a general organization under the constructivist model by using a folder called General Course/Group Information. • All other content organization is set up according to the needs of the faculty. UPLOADING FILES • Most users upload standard MS Office type files for access by the user group – Word, Excel, PowerPoint. • This function works just like your computer. • Click on Browse. • Select your file from the list. • Give your file a Title. TOOLS • Upload grades for distribution to individual portals • Access the learner profiles and students’ grades. • Access ungraded items. • Check when and how often users have logged on. • Check activity of forums and mail. • Batch load large groups of users. • Export your course, or elements, to a disk for storage.
