  2. 5:1-6, Paul’s Arguments Summarized V. 1, You are giving up freedom for bondage (losing inheritance). V. 2, You are giving up justification by faith. Cf. 2:16 V. 3, You are binding yourselves to keep the whole Law.

Criticism of Paul's remark here is unbecoming, for the remark is a protest, not any sort of recommendation.”
