Subjects! What is a subject, you may ask?
The subject of a verb is the person or thing which performs the action of that verb:Gordon travaille.Gordon is working.Mes parents habitent en Espagne.My parents live in Spain.La voiture ne veut pas démarrer.The car won't start.
Subject pronouns replace this person or thing:Iltravaille.He is working.Ilshabitent en Espagne.They live in Spain.Elle ne veut pas démarrer.It won't start.

Aimes-tu? • To ask someone you know well if he/she likes something use the familiar form: Aimes-tu….? • To ask someone you do not know well of is older than you are if he/she likes something, use the formal form: Aimez-vous…?
Et toi? • “Et toi?” directly translates as “And you?”. • Use the phrase “et toi?” to respond and engage in conversation. • Example: Très Bien Spongebob. Et toi? Salut, Patrick! Comment cava? Très bien, merci!
In order to respond to Patrick… If “yes” say: Oui, j’aime la glace. If “yes, a lot” say: Oui, j’aime beaucoup la glace If “no” say: Non, je n’aime pas la glace

Be careful to count how many people are performing the action in order to place the correct verb ending on your stem. • Ask yourself: which subject pronoun is being used? (subjectpronoun = _______ thereforeending = ____) Ex. Ma mère, mon père et mon chat march_____ au magasin.
