  2. History • Guido d’Arezzo was the first to create music notation • Finale version 1.0 was created in 1988

  3. How do I use Finale? • Input music by: *using computer keyboard alone in real-time *combinations of mouse clicks, keyboard, & MIDI piano keyboard *by MIDI keyboard alone • Notate anything from a textbook choral to a cut-out score • Can recognize printed music from a scanned copy

  4. Benefits of Finale • Import/export MIDI files • Transpose music • Edit dynamics, rhythms, and tempos • Notate pitches played on an acoustic instrument through microphone • Composer can create new symbols

  5. Wanna try it? If you have the desire to compose your own songs or transpose songs you may not have the score to, you can use this beneficial, fun program at your own will! The comp. tech room (located in MM 119A) provides this program to anyone who wishes to use it!
