computerized physician/provider order entry (CPOE) software • CPOE is an electronic application used by physicians and health care providers to enter orders for patients, such as medications, diagnostic tests, and ancillary services (Poon et al., 2004).
CPOE facts Less than 20% of hospitals across seven western countries (Australia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and US) have CPOE (Chan et al., 2011; Devine et al., 2010).
