  4. What if… the CPOE is not easily accessible by all health care providers???

  5. Results High Risk For: -Missed Orders -Duplicate Orders -Conflicting Orders -Errors -Wasted Time -Less Time Spent on Patient Care

  6. Reason Transitioning from paper handwritten orders and documentation to computerized health record and not all providers have made the transition, therefore, both techniques currently in use.

Conclusion • Pros of Provider Computerized Order Entry: • SAFETY in overall decreased errors due • to clarity of writing • -Improved communication between • all health care providers. • -Fewer Missed, Duplicate, or Conflicting Orders • Solution: Continue having full paper chart as well as electronic chart- two complete charts are better than two partial charts!
