What is the P2P GIS User Group? • The Pine to Prairie (P2P) GIS User Group is a network of GIS users who meet quarterly and on-line to: • Discuss GIS issues • Attend workshops and presentations • Share information with their peers • Network with other GIS users • Pine to Prairie = P2P = Peer to Peer Pine to Prairie GIS User Group: An Overview North Dakota GIS Users Conference - October 24, 2006

Brief History • Evolved from the former “Outstate GIS User Group” • Meetings were coordinated by the Otter Tail County (MN) GIS Department • Reorganization meeting held July, 2003 • West Central Initiative took over meeting coordination and hosting • First meeting held in September, 2003 Pine to Prairie GIS User Group: An Overview North Dakota GIS Users Conference - October 24, 2006

Purpose • Statement of Purpose: The purpose of the Pine to Prairie GIS User Group is to facilitate interaction between GIS users in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. • Example of purpose in action: • Possible member exchange with other user groups (e.g. NE South Dakota) Pine to Prairie GIS User Group: An Overview North Dakota GIS Users Conference - October 24, 2006
