  4. Video Recording Equipment Make good use of what you have and what you can get!

  5. CAMERAS Digital SLR with HD recording Use any device that preferably has High Definition (HD) recording and stores video into a memory card, hard drive, or internal memory storage. Camera for broadcasting/ filmmaking Tablet with HD camera HD handycam Phone with HD camera Laptop or PC with HD camera

  6. ✖ ✔ ✖ ✔ CAMERAS If you are using a cellphone or a computer tablet to record video, please record in landscape position and not upright. Upright Landscape Landscape Upright

  7. MICROPHONE If you have a microphone, use it. You can wear a lapel mic or have a friend hold a microphone near you. Just make sure the mic cannot be seen in the video. If a microphone is unavailable, be sure to speak louder than usual and be in a very quiet environment. Turn off the air conditioner, put your phone on silent mode, and ask people to refrain from speaking while you make your video.

  8. TRIPOD It is important for the video recorder to be mounted on a tripod or any steady base such as a table or a pile of books for a steady shot. No zooming during the video, please! The photo of the mobile phone in between rocks is not a perfect example but it does show the need to be inventive to achieve a steady shot. 

  9. ✔ ✔ ✔ LIGHTS Use professional lighting if you have access to it. If not, choose a room with natural light. Additional light may come from the lights in the room and an extra light source such as a lamp to avoid any harsh shadows on the face. ✔

  10. You and Your Location What to wear, where to shoot, shoot from the waist up!

  11. BACKGROUND Choose a very quiet room with a lot of natural light. Look for a plain colored wall, or a wall with the least amount of texture or with zero patterns and photos. As much as possible, shoot indoors for the best audio possible. Shoot in the shade, or avoid shooting at noon time to avoid getting harsh shadows on the face because of the sun. For better results, avoid shooting your video at night, unless you have professional lighting for an indoor environment.

  12. ATTIRE Wear a plain colored top. Please avoid wearing bright red or neon tops (red or neon accessories are fine), or anything with patterns such as stripes and spots. POSITION Stay in the center of the screen and take a medium shot of yourself, which is approximately cut at the elbow. Stand up straight and speak directly to the camera.

  13. Your Message This is just a guide, so speak freely but stay on target!

  14. VIDEO MESSAGE What do we need you to say in your video? First, state your name, your country, and that you’re a member of telecentre.org (because you are!). Next, complete the following statement: “Telecentres make a difference because…” Answer briefly and whole heartedly. Speak freely and in any language you are comfortable speaking. It’s ok if you fumble a bit, but please avoid rambling, only because we cannot promise to include your entire answer in the video if it turns out to be too long.  Finally, give your anniversary message for Telecentre.org Foundation. Try to keep your video to 90 seconds or less. Feel free to speak in any of the five languages of the telecentre.org community: English, French, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic. When you post your video, please be sure to post the following information: Full name How you would identify yourself: a) telecentre user, b) telecentre manager, c) telecentre advocate Profession and Organization City and Country

  15. SUBMISSION OF VIDEO Once you've finished taping yourself, upload your video on Youtube or any video site and share the video in your telecentre.org community site, writing the following information in the description: Full name How you would identify yourself: a) telecentre user, b) telecentre manager, c) telecentre advocate Profession and Organization City and Country Tag the video, "anniversary" and that's it! We'll take care of everything else. All you need to do is relax and wait till November 24 when we debut the final Anniversary video. IMPORTANT: Please note that although we'll try our best to make sure everyone is included in the video, we won't be able to add you in if your video is not clear enough or cannot be heard.
