Byzantium produced many luxury products, and they had skilled craftsmen.

Vladmir considered affiliating with many religions, but rejected Islam due to it’s prohibition on alcohol. KievanRus preserved the religion and knowledge of the Byzantine Empire. KievanRus was proclaimed the “Third Rome”
