Entertain • The purpose of the following: fiction, mystery, fantasy, and poetry • When the author wants you to read for enjoyment • To provide someone with amusement or enjoyment
Entertain • Example #1 • Writing to entertain is basically a comic book, a picture book, or any form of enjoyment. It doesn't necessarily need to be funny. It sometimes needs to contain some form of sarcasm, which you can't constantly take out of the subject. Very little entertainment does not include speech.
Entertain • Example #2 • The purpose to entertain is to make the readers laugh. One example is a book called Bud, Not Buddy. It is under a historical fiction, but some clips and sections of the book is to entertain. One example is when Herman E. Calloway and his band members, gave Bud a horn to play with them in the band, and he would always go to band meetings, rehearsals, and gigs, to learn how to play like the band.
Entertain • Human nature is an escapist nature. We need an escape from real life. We need to feed our fantasies. Entertainment takes us to an altered world of our liking and fulfils our want for fantasy and an escape from real life. Entertainment conditions our values, behavior and thinking. Entertainment triggers a complicated processes in the human brain. Our emotions powerfully influence our actions in ways that remain outside of our control.
