5. Message from the PKCC Advisors
6. Projects-Korean Language Classes (?????) In order to promote Korean language and culture, this program has been started from the summer semester of 2006 at International Center.
This program began with three volunteer-teachers.
Seven students were registered due to growing interest in Korean cinema and popular TV dramas.
Two classes will be offered this fall semester
Beginner I (Sooyoung Shin)
Beginner II (hyunjoon Na)
7. Korean Language Classes(Cont..) PKCC looks for volunteers to teach and help Korean classes.
From this semester, Korean Monthly Movie Night will be held on the last Thursday of each month. (Sep., Oct., Nov.)
This semester the following movie will be featured: JSA, Welcome to Dongmakgol, The King and the Clown, and the Host.
This program will provide a great chance to cultivate appreciation of Korean culture and language.
8. Projects - Korean Movies Among Koreaphiles and others, the recent popularity of Korean cinema and media productions has stimulated interest in Korean culture and language. PKCC aims to take this opportunity to further cultivate understanding and enjoyment of Korean arts, literature, music and many other cultural manifestations along with Korean movie screening.

11. Projects-Korean Cooking Classes at International Center (I.C.) WHAT?
What is I.C. (http://www.intlctr.org)
I.C. is an independent non-profit community organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. They offer programs as English conversation, foreign language, international cooking classes, and etc
Programs are open to ALL residents of the Greater Lafayette community
I.C. opens their kitchen for international cooking classes every Wednesday night in September and October
WHY cooking class?
Food is a great bridge from one culture to another. Cooking and sharing food together provides a nice chance to meet, communicate, and understand people from different cultures.

Before the class
I.C. will be advertising by brochure, post, I.C. Website, and radio
Pre-registration with $ 10 participant fee
A week before class
Decision of the dish for the class
The day before class
Grocery shopping (reimburse with receipts)
The day of class
Pre-cut and cook the ingredients before the class to reduce working during the class to help beginner participant

Assistant for the instructor (one person) : who has experience with both Korean and American culture, and a sense of humor ^^
Assistants for the instructor (23 people) : who has experience with cooking or at least cutting to help participants during the class
15. Projects- Samulnori Samulnori, traditional Korean percussion, has its origin
from ancient farmers music, Nong ak
Four instruments
A. Kkwang gwari- the small gong
B. Jang Goo the two sided drum
C. Buk- the one sided drum
D. Jing- the large gong
Instructive Class- A kind of small club
Time-At least once a week (possibly over the weekends)
Instructor- Miss. Minjeong Choi
Previous experiences in structuring the samulnoripae back at IU
Have all these four instruments and can be used for the class
