Club Background • MSC Formed in 2003 • Started with 4 teams • Currently 15 teams (181 Players, 44 Coaches) • Established Specifically as a Low Cost Alternative to Larger Area Soccer Clubs • Designed for players and teams transitioning from recreational soccer (e.g., AYSO and YMCA) to a more competitive playing environment • Low entry costs • No tryouts! • Access to competitive leagues and tournaments Mission: To help our youth develop an understanding of leadership, teamwork, responsibility, self-discipline, and respect for others through the sport of soccer. www.marionsoccerclub.org

Tournaments • MSC Teams Eligible to Play in US Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) Sanctioned Tournaments • Many tournaments held each year in Iowa • Teams may also travel out of state • MSC Teams Have Competed in Out of State Events • Wisconsin, Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota & Illinois • Tournament Play at the Discretion of Individual Teams • Typically teams play 1 to 2 tournaments in the fall and spring • Other events (e.g., 3 v 3 tournaments) www.marionsoccerclub.org
Coaching • Parent Lead and Coached Teams • E-License required for all club coaches • First club in state to require parent coach licenses • Coaches encouraged to pursue additional training(D-License, Keeper Training, National Coaching Certificates) • Pro-Coaching • Offers players, teams and parent coaches additional coaching resources • Optional, teams decide how to utilize coaches • Team training, running matches • Pro-coaches run Camps and Academies • Co-Training Opportunities with FC United • Pursuing partnerships with local colleges • College coach directs club and team training programs • College players work with individual teams www.marionsoccerclub.org

Costs • 2009 - 2010 Fee Schedule Not Finalized • Historical Costs (Approximate Per Player) • $150 - $200 Annual Fee (Includes Fall and Spring Seasons) • Player & Team Registration • Covers ISA Player Card and Team Roster • Teams typically hold 2 training sessions per week during season • Players provide their own training clothing and soccer ball • 5 S’s (Shirt, Shorts, Socks, Shin guards and Shoes) • League Fees (6 to 8 games per Season) • Covers League Registration, Field and Referee Fees • Additional Costs (As Needed / Utilized) • Uniform (if needed) ~ $100 • Pro-coaching ~ $40 per Year • One training session per week during spring and fall seasons • Tournaments ~ $30 per Event(Not including personal travel & lodging costs) www.marionsoccerclub.org
