  1. A case study in AV transformation and what it did for Pegasystems Dan Ryan, VP of Facilities Jami Feldmann, IT Project Manager Date

  2. Goals • Increase collaboration • Ease of Use • Global Standard • Ease of installation • Future proof • Hidden Technology • Simple enough for IT to Diagnose and Support

  3. The Process • Failed Start in the UK • Standard did translate • Unwilling to accept others design • Too complicated • User interface not intuitive • Technology trumped User in design • Interface was not simple and Intuitive • It was all about the technology not the use of the system • Not Future proofed, Analog system • Support an issue • Another RFP for 5 Integrators in the Northeast with Global Design • Meeting to understand who they were and how they approached projects • All were pretty much the same in approach and design. • Then……

  4. The AH-HA Moment • The “Yes” man came in • Furniture guy came to us and said he had a solution, We Laughed • Then he said it again and we listened, You never know where the solution is going to come from. • Had a demo and initial discussion • Then spent a day with Engineer and Manufacturer to do a deep dive. • Brought in a sample unit. • Then Proof of concept on how they could make it global. • Then we threw up all over it, Birth of the “Feldmann”

  5. The Construction Challenges • Logistics • Material Lead Times • Construction Logistics • Delivery and installation sequencing • Protection of finished materials • Coordination • Thinking about sight lines, lighting, locations of windows, mechanical noise, etc.

  6. What is the take away from this • Take the internal walls down • Never know where the answer lies. • Out of the mouth of babes. • Always be willing to talk • Have goals first • Build the right team • Be selective, • Keep looking until you find the right one • Flexibility • Do not accept things are fixed • Be articulate in your needs and reasons • The user is the beginning not the end of the process • Simplicity and future capabilities were our watch words • Test, test, test • Partner, partner, partner

  7. Where are we today • Solution installed in 6 countries • Over 60 conference rooms • 25 Scrum Rooms • 6 AV contractors • 2 full time AV technicians- 1in Cambridge and 1 in India • All rooms are available for remote monitoring and diagnostics • Challenges
