  4. King charles King charles the fourth did marvalous things. The charles bridge was built in honor of him because he renewed war with England by invading Aqitaine and won a generous settlement in the peace of 1327. He also increased the royal revenues, notably by debasing the coinage.

  5. About the bridge The prague bridge is 514 meters long and is 10 meters wide. It rests on 16 arches and has 30 towers along the edges of the tower. It is the most famous and romantic bridge with the most romantic sites. It connects the Old Town to Mala Strana. The bridge is in the form of a Arch Bridge.

  6. This bridge is located in Prague, one of the most visited cities. It is the capital of the Czech Republic and is one of the most beautiful too. It is a stone gothic bridge. It was actually called the stone bridge during the first couple of centuries.

  7. Before the bridge was built the Judith Bridge stood in its place, which was the first stone bridge over the river in 1170. It was built in 1357 and collapsed in 1432 because of a big flood. In 1496 the third arch broke down after one of the pillars lowered. The repairs were made in 1503. It crosses over the vltava river. This bridge is a historical monument because every time it was down, it was rebuilt again. The bridge was built out of sandstone.

  10. About Sandstone A sedimentary rock formed by the consolidation and conpaction of sand and held together by a natural cement, such as Silica. When the proportion of fossil fragments of carbonate grains is greater than 50%, sandstones grade into clastic limestones.

  11. Past Structure Issues • In 1172, when Wenceslas 1 ordered the building of the judith bridge ( after his wife’s name), the first stone bridge to connect the Vlatava banks. • The Judith bridge was destroyed by a flood in 1342.

  12. Past Structure Issues The oddest thing may seem the very date of its foundation: 5:31 am, 9. 07. 1357 (9th of June). Only odd digits (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) and what’s more, except 9 all prime numbers….. The judith bridge.

  13. Before, there was the Judith Bridge.

  14. After that was the Charles Bridge.
