Lesson Plan 2 – 1984 • English component for the unit on the Cold War by Ashley Godshall • In this lesson students will read 1984 and analyze and comprehend what propaganda meant during the Cold War through the book. • Technology Incorporated: • Overhead Computer Projector to show samples of propaganda • Computer/Computer Lab with Word, Paint, Publisher, Adobe or any other program the students may use to create their own collage of propaganda.

Lesson Plan 3 – Iron Curtain • Art Lesson Plan – Interpreting Spoken Word by Timothy Belloff • In this lesson students will listen to and read along with Winston Churchill as he gave his speech on the “Iron Curtain” coming across Europe. Lesson Plan 4 – Living in the Cold War • Social Studies lesson on interviewing and talking to people who lived through the Cold War by Timothy Belloff • In this lesson the students will review the Cold War by listening to guest speakers, watching a video and interviewing people that were alive during the Cold War. • Technology Incorporated: • Video Camera to tape Guest Speakers • Computer with projector to watch video from United Streaming website • Audio recorders or computers with microphones to tape interviews with adults from the Cold War

Lesson Plan 7 – Song Analysis • English/Language Arts lesson plan in which students will listen to songs related to the Cold War. • Lesson done by Regina Hastings. • In this lesson students will listen to songs that address the Cold War and try to analyze them.
