REC: Specific objectives • Promote non–discrimination • Combat racism, xenophobia, homophobia • Promote rights of persons with disabilities • Promote gender equality, gender mainstreaming • Prevent violence against children, young people, women and groups at risk(Daphne objective) • Promote rights of the child • Ensure highest level of data protection • Promote rights deriving from Union citizenship • Enforce consumer rights

  6. 3. Justice: Specific objectives • Facilitate judicial cooperation • Promote judicial training • Facilitate access to justice • Support drug policy initiatives regarding judicial cooperation and crime prevention aspects

Aims of funding • enhancing public  awareness and knowledge of Union law and policies; • supporting the effective, comprehensive and consistent implementation, application and monitoring of Union law instruments and policies; • promoting cross-border cooperation and improving mutual knowledge and enhancing mutual trust among all stakeholders • improving the knowledge and understanding of potential obstacles  to the exercise of rights and principles guaranteed by  EU law

  8. Types of action • Analytical activities (studies, data collection,…) • Training • Mutual learning, cooperation, awareness-raising, dissemination • Support for main actors (key NGOs and networks, MS, 116 operators…)

  9. Who can participate? • All public and private organisations and entities • Profit-oriented organisations: limitedaccess • Established in MS • Limited access of third countries: EEA, candidate countries • International organisation

  10. Funding instruments • Action grants – funding for transnational and national projects • Operating grant – operating costs for EU level NGOs and similar bodies • Procurement– service contract tenders (EU studies, EU conferences, EU campaigns etc.). Max. 35% of the budget

  14. 5. What makes a good project? Exampleof Award Criteria for Action Grants • 1) Relevanceto the priorities of the call (30 points):Relevance of the action and its objectives to the priorities of the call for proposals, relevance of the issues addressed by the project, contribution of the proposal to the priorities, and complementarity with other Union activities, avoiding duplication with projects funded by other Union programmes. • 2) Quality (30 points):Quality in terms of the proposed methodology for implementing the activities; the organisation of work, the allocation of resources and the time schedule; the appropriateness of the envisaged activities; the strategy for monitoring of the project implementation and the proposed evaluation; the identification of risks and the measures to mitigate them; the identification of ethical issues and the proposed action to address them. • 3) European added value (10 points): The European added value of the project shall be assessed in the light of criteria such as its contribution to the consistent and coherent implementation of Union law and policies and to wide public awareness about the rights deriving from it, its potential to develop mutual trust among Member States and to improve cross-border cooperation, its transnational impact, its contribution to the elaboration and dissemination of best practices or its potential to create practical tools and solutions that address cross-border or Union-wide challenges. • 4) Expected results, dissemination, sustainability and long-term impact (20 points): How appropriate are the expected results to achieve the objectives of the action? Is there a long-term impact of these results on the target groups and/or the general public? A clear, targeted and appropriate dissemination strategy, which will ensure that the results and/or lessons learnt will reach the target groups and/or the general public? Is sustainability of the activities after the EU funding ensured? • 5) Cost effectiveness (10 points):Financial feasibility of the proposed activities by means of a realistic and reasonable budget. Appropriateness of the amount requested in relation to the scale and type of the activities, to the expected results and to the size of the partnership. Appropriateness of management and coordination costs.
