Need List: What you will need: Jazz shoes, shorts and take top, ankle weights. Where you will go: A dance studio with a mirror.
Stretch for 20 minutes: Includes turning your head side to side, up and down. Stretch your torso to the right, flat back. Put your head to your knee on your right side to the middle and then left. And repeat with torso stretch to left. Press into a second position plie. Go into your right lunge and hold it, press up and stretch your nose to your knee. Six o’clock and repeat on your left side. Butterfly legs, diamond. Stretch out to straddle and reach over to your left side, then right. Then stomach on the floor to the middle. Right leg spits, left leg splits and middle splits. STRETCH: Class Order: Stretching before you dance is so important so that you do not pull or strain anything.
Safety Concerns: Stretch well or you will pull something! Drink water as to not overheat! If injured wear your brace!Always dance in shoes or barefoot, no socks because easier to slip on wood floor.
Routine of Class: Warm up: Stretch, crunches for a whole song, three sets of planks on elbows, foutette preps on bar! 10 minutes Line up for sotoshas (leaps) against Bar: With ankle weights on do leaps including russians, backwards and switch leaps. 5 minutes Across the Floor: Chaines, piques, kick combination, & pirouette combination. At end of class improv. 20 minutes
Cool Down: Reverance is at the end of class. It is where the teacher leads slow ballet plies and stretches to cool down the dancers.5 minutes
