Examples of how temptations work: (Saw – Covet – Took)Lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, pride of life The World - The Flesh - The Devil
1. God tests people for good, He does not tempt people for evil James 1:13-15 13 When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
2. Each individual is responsible for their sin James 1:14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.
3. Yielding to Temptations gives birth to spiritual separation from God James 1:15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
2 Co 13:5 5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?
Romans 6:23 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
James 1:16-18 16 Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
