  1. YARBROUGH'S YAK Week of December 10, 2012 A Note from the teacher…. Parent Night Out! Friday, Dec. 14th, from 6 – 10 PM  will be MES Parents Night Out. This is to benefit the American Cancer Society!  $20 per child, $15 for siblings (Marlow students, pre-K – 5 only) Cash or checks made payable to ACS. Reservations & pre-payment appreciated, but not required.  See flyer for more information. Word Work Words Students will be tested on Friday and will have to write each word correctly. These are some examples of word patterns that will be used. The words on this list will not necessarily be the ones tested, but they will follow this spelling pattern. WEEK 17 Blends (sc,st,sw,sl) scab scalp scan scat scout step stem stack stop stick stir swam swan swap swat swell swift swish slab slam slant slip slug slept sled slim Sight Words Students will be tested on Friday. Students will have to say each word instantly, without sounding them out. They will not have to write them. boy follow came want show also around farm three small Homework Daily: Read, or have someone read to you for 10 – 15 minutes. Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday: Math Sheet Word Work sheet. See inside of the Frog book.. Please work on only 10 words per night off the list. Complete Math Sheets every night. Wednesday~ NO HOMEWORK- FAMILY NIGHT Thursday: Please study sight words & word work words for tests tomorrow WHAT WILLWE BE STUDYING? Math- addition & subtraction Reading the Book~ Historical Figures (Ben Franklin, Lewis & Clark, Sacagawea) Writing/Grammar- Collecting info, writing a report & comparing & contrasting 2 historical figures, auto biographies Social Studies~ Historical Figures/Christmas crafts Ice Cream on Tuesday $.75 Please send money only on Tuesdays & write it on the envelope in the money pouch Specials SD2 – Technology - Monday SD3 -PE - Tuesday SD4 –Art- Wednesday SD5 -Music - Thursday SD1 – PE - Friday *Please remind your child to wear gym shoes on the day he/she has PE. Dec. 20 Last Day of the 2nd 9wks Christmas Parties @ 1:15 Dec. 21-Jan. 6 Christmas Break Mon. Jan. 7 Students Return to School Lunch Menu Monday- Chicken Nuggets Tuesday – Spaghetti Wednesday – BBQ riblets Thursday – Turkey Supreme Friday – Pepperoni Pizza Monday- Teriyaki Chicken We eat at 11:31.
