History Of Adventure Racing • John Turner was a co-finder of the California Adventure Racing Association. • Many still debate on the origin of adventure racing • People look at the Karrimor International Mountain Marathon, as the birth of adventure racing • This marathon took place in 1968.

Modifying Adventure Racing If I would to be able to modify this activity in order to allow young children, the elderlies, and people with special needs I would: • Shorten the races • Less obstacles • No high or long climbs • Little to no biking • Safe and clear paths
