Early Days Kid Cudi was born in 1984 in Cleveland. His father was Native American and half Mexican, and his mother was African American. At the age of 11 his father died. The death of his father made a huge impact towards his music and life. He ended up getting his GED; then later going to the University of Toledo to study film, but dropped after a year.
Beginning of his Career • At the beginning of his career, In 2008 Kid Cudi moved to Brooklyn, New York to pursue his music career. • His first release was A Kid Named Cudi. • His mixed tape A kid Named Cudi got noticed by Kanye West. He showed strong interest and wanted to put him on the map and get him signed to a record label.
Getting BIGG! • His first album was; Man on the Moon: End of the day. • That album was released September 15 2009. The song that really got him noticed, was the single day and night. The song made a huge spark on the Internet. • Many people started purchasing the song, and the song became a huge single. It was on the radio and just pretty much everywhere. • Day and Night is about how he copes with life and struggles. • The man on the moon album is pretty much about how he does cope and that life can get better and you can deal with things. Another single that shortly became a hit after day and night was; make her say. The song make her say featured Lady GaGa and Kanye West
His Message • Kid Cudi's music is something that he creates for people to relate to and show he copes through problems and how things can get better. • He has a quote about his music that relates to that; "People like records they can relate to, even if you can't relate to something I speak about, you'll at least understand my mind, I won't loose anyone. Even if they haven't walked in my shoes, they'll feel for me."
