Activity Take the following self evaluation to help you determine if you may have an opiate addiction: • Did you begin taking a prescription pain reliever because you had an injury? • Do you have a hard time paying attention when you are driving while on your medication? • Are you experiencing any social or interpersonal problems? • Is your tolerance increasing? • Do you spend a lot of time figuring out how you are going to obtain your medication? • Have you began to obtain it illegally? • Do you experience withdrawal symptoms when you don’t have any medication? • Do you feel that you have lost the ability to control your desire for the medication? If this sounds like you, then it is probably safe to say that you have an addiction to opiates.
