WOW PROCESS UPDATE • The RRT will begin to provide technicians serial numbers for NJF/WOW situations on Monday January 17, 2011 • Technicians should enter the serial number into BTS Time Work Report “Order Main” field (see TWI screen shot) each time they charge WOW • Technicians should continue following the existing WOW process: • NJF • Call to the RRT • Call to manager • Hit the button every 15 minutes • ***Addition to process – enter WOW serial number***
WOW FAQs • What if I hit NJF within 30 minutes of my lunch? • Technicians should take their lunch early rather than charging WOW • What if I start at 7am but there is not CO work? • WOW is not automatic, technicians must hit the button and dispatch on work starting at 7am. WOW would be warranted if the technician hits a NJF and follows the normal WOW process. • Is hold time with the RRT, after a NJF, WOW? • Yes, if the total amount of time it takes to get another job is more than 15 minutes then hold time is charged as WOW. • How far can they move me to give me work? • If you work in an urban area, they can move you 30 km. If you work in a rural area, they can move you 60km. The RRT should only move you if there is enough time left in your shift to drive and complete the job.
WOW FAQs • Can they give me work outside my skill set to avoid WOW? • All technicians are High Speed Repair and Desktop trained. They cannot give you work outside these skills sets, if you are not trained, to avoid WOW. • Is it WOW if I am a non-climber and all that is left is climbing work? • No, this is not a WOW situation. • What do I do if the RRT associate won’t give me a serial number? • Under the WOW process, you should be calling your manager, after the RRT, when you do make sure your manager knows the RRT would not give you a serial number so they can follow up.
