  2. Where is it located? • It is located in southern Florida. It is a wet land. Each year there is a wet season and a dry season.

  3. Who lives there? • Many animals live in the Everglades such as the egrets, ospreys, alligators, turtles, and red wolves.

  4. What is it called? • It is called the river of grass. The saw grass is very sharp and can grow to be ten feet tall.

  5. What is it made up of? • This ecosystem is a home for many plants too. The plant life is unique and diverse in its own way. 2,000 kinds of plants make up the everglades, including the pinelands and mangroves.

  6. How was it formed? • Several years ago this wet land was part of a watershed that covered 1/3 of the state of Florida.

  7. WHAT IS IN THE FLORIDA EVERGLADES? *In the Florida everglades there is sugar cane, and alligators.
