Restoration • Land Acquisition • Southern CREW Imperial River Flow-way • Purchased 26,800 acres of land from U.S. Sugar Corporation • $197,396,088 cash • Options to acquire 153,200 acres over next ten years • Kissimmee River Restoration • United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Herbert Hoover Dike Project • Public/Private Partnerships • Develop and implement Dispersed Water Management program

C-111 Spreader Canal Western Project • Improve the quantity, timing and distribution of water delivered to Florida Bay via Taylor Slough • Improve coastal zone salinities in Florida Bay • Construction began January 2010 • Frog Pond Impoundment - anticipated completion June 2011 • Aerojet Canal- anticipated completion June 2011 • Plugging C-110 and L-31E Canals - completed August 2010 • Pump Stations anticipated completion July 2011

Tamiami Trail Modifications • Corps awarded $81 million contract • Corps and Department of Interior funded project • Construct one-mile bridge, and raising and reinforcing more than nine miles of existing Tamiami Trail • Key component to restore historical flows to Everglades National Park • Construction ongoing

State and Federal Appropriations • Original Assumption for CERP: State and Federal appropriations for CERP would average $200 million per year for each agency • Federal government has appropriated $755 million through FY11 for CERP since WRDA-2000 compared with over $2.1billion appropriated by the State to date

Federal Appropriations • The Federal government recently appropriated significant funds for the CERP • Federal Stimulus Package – • Over $86 million for CERP restoration projects in FY2009 and FY2010 • President’s Budget for FY2011 (enacted) • $180 million for SFER restoration (includes $152M for CERP) • President’s Budget for FY2012 (proposed) • $163 million for SFER restoration (includes $80M for CERP)
