What is Koinonia? Essentially, koinonia is rich fellowship with others in Christ. • Deepcommunion that changes lives • Teamworkin ministry • Partnershipin the Gospel • Intimaterelationship with God lived out in community with others
I believein God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believein Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believein the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, And the life everlasting. Amen. The Apostles’ Creed
Acts 2 Vision for the Church 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.
Acts 2 Vision for the Church (cont’d) 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.
Acts 2 Vision for the Church (cont’d) 46Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes & ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God & enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

What does Koinonia do? Reveals the inner life of God Reflects the kingdom Realizes the potential of the Church Reaches the lost Koinonia…
Community: The Ultimate Evangelistic Weapon “For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood…” – Ephesians 6:12a
Community: The Ultimate Evangelistic Weapon We’re creating environments where God’s people can come together so that God’s purposes can come together. “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” – Jesus (John 13:35)
Community: The Ultimate Evangelistic Weapon Koinonia is the perfect expression of God’s love for humankind. “No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us.” – 1 John 4:12
The Electrostatic Environment of Koinonia DEFNINITION A group is two or more gathered in Jesus’ Name to live out the purposes of God. • “For where two or three gather together because they are mine, I am there among them.” – Jesus (Matthew 18:20)
The Electrostatic Environment of Koinonia • Koinonia connects us with the one and only God who is with us. • Koinonia makes an environment electrostatic with faith. • Koinonia results in the build-up of faith that sticks to others.
Where two or more gather in Jesus’ Name… • Christ's Presence makes the gathering’s dynamic transformational • Believers are awakened to God's leading and purpose • The gathering becomes a springhead for spiritual renewal • God's Word engages in fresh ways
Where two or more gather in Jesus’ Name… • The light of God's grace reaches into unwanted dark areas sin wants to keep isolated • People see more of God and experience Him more personally • Oneness with Christ is experienced more fully through unity with one another (and this unity expressed strengthens the evangelistic impact of your church)
Where two or more gather in Jesus’ Name… • All the vital purposes of the Church (fellowship, discipleship, ministry, evangelism, worship) can be fulfilled • Believers are released in ministry and empowered to reach out with the transforming love of Christ • Lives are changed forever!
“And let us not neglect our meeting together…especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.” – Hebrews 10:25
Process for Community Evangelism Start with who you know Build off of what you know Pray for open doors Socialize with them around your shared interest Serve with them in your community
Think about the needs in your neighborhood or community and write them down in your notes page.
Love is the contagion of the Kingdom and koinonia is how it spreads.
