What is EAPN? • Independent Network of NGOs committed to fight against poverty and social exclusion, with and for people in poverty. • Started in 1990 – key actor in poverty programmes and development of social OMC. • Receives financial support from the European Commission (PROGRESS) • 31 National Networks and 18 European NGOs as members (6000+ organisations) • Participation of people with direct experience of poverty must be part of the solution.
Members of EAPN in all 28 EU member states • Plus Norway, Iceland, Serbia and FYROM (Macedonia)

EAPN: Vision The European Anti Poverty Network (EAPN) is working for a democratic and social Europe, free of poverty and social exclusion.
EAPN: Mission • To promote and enhance the effectiveness of actions against poverty and social exclusion; • To help shape social policies and design action programmes; • To lobby for and with people and groups experiencing poverty and social exclusion.
Strategies • EAPN seeks to be a critical voice, proposing solutions and defending the interest of people experiencing poverty and social exclusion by: • Being an innovative and active partner and relevant reference point, shaping and influencing EU inclusion policies and strategies. • Providing a space for exchange, debate and learning on practices and policies to fight poverty and social exclusion and to promote a better distribution of wealth. • Contributing to developing and implementing a social and sustainable development model.
