  2. Outline • What is a mental disorder • How many people have a disorder in the US. • Example of a mental disorder. • What do these people do everyday. • What can we do to help them. • What future we can create.

  3. What is a Mental Disorder. • A mental disorder or illness is a medical condition that disrupts a person’s thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others and daily function. Which often result in a diminished capacity for coping with the ordinary demands of life.

  4. How many Teens in the US have mental disorders? • Approximately 6 percent or 1 in 17 teens suffer from a serious mental illness. • Nearly half of those with any mental disorder meet the criteria for two or more disorders.

Example of a disorder: Bipolar • Bipolar is a disorder known as a manic-depressive illness, it is a brain disorder that can cause unusual shifts in mood, energy activity levels, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks. • Symptoms of bipolar disorder are sever, and are known to result in damaged relationships, poor job or school performance, and even suicide. • Bipolar disorder can be treated, and people with this illness can lead full and productive lives.

  6. What do bipolar people do on a daily basis. • Bipolar people do the same tasks as any other normal person, however, they have more trouble trying to do these tasks because they can sometimes have ‘episodes’ of unusual anger or a mixture of emotions, sometimes there is some unusual change in energy. • Bipolar people have a hard time trying to get by the day and trying to maintain any sort of friendships or relationships since they are know to do several tasks at once just because they feel like it.

  7. How can we help them. • There are a few ways to help bipolar people. • If we want to help them we must learn more about the disorder. • Learn how too talk to them or learn methods of how to approach them. • Just listen to what they say and try to care about it so not to cause any problems and show that you possibly have their back. • Be gentle around them and be relaxed and calms so you may not provoke them or cause any problems.

  8. Future. • The future is something we all are looking at and wonder what might come, while some of us can see what is to come there is a few unfortunate people like bipolar people that have trouble seeing the future and what can come with the future, if you want to give someone a better future while your trying to active your future, please give yourself some time to help the few unfortunate like bipolar people in any way you can, because, you never know if what you do today can come and ether hunt you or help you in the upcoming days. You decide what is to come, but the question is what will you do or who will you help while you venture towards it?
