  2. Characters • Almanzo the main character ,is the child in the story that feels like he is not cared about. • Papa • Mama • Eliza Jane • Alice

  3. Setting • Northern New York City • Father’s fields (3,000 acres of beautiful pastures that has been passed down from generation to generation.)

  4. Plot • Almanzo had a life that nobody cared about. His mama and papa just made him do chores and didn’t care if he got hurt or not. His parents wouldn’t do nothing for his birthdays. But on his 13th birthday, they had the biggest birthday party ever, he got more presents than any body could ever remember, he finally was loved.

  5. Conclusion • The lesson I learned in this story is that you will always be loved one time or another in your life. In my recommendation I rate this book a 5. I don’t know about you but I loved this book!
