Results -BirthPreparedness • 44% (75%) of women of reproductive age received at least 2 doses of tetanus toxoid • Improved knowledge through training of village health committees and outreach • Creation by village health committees of emergency referral systems including transport plans with revolving funds (MURIGA)
Results-Safe Delivery • In 2001, slight increase in number of births attended by trained TBAs; slight decrease in number of births at health center • 83% (70%) of births attended by trained personnel
Results - Antenatal and Postnatal Care • 40% (70%) of pregnant women will receive at least 2 prenatal contacts • 50% (60%) of pregnant women receive malaria prophylaxis during pregnancy • 45% (60%) of postpartum women receive Vitamin A capsule
