Norming, storming and forming The board membership: • IYSS service manager • Medway Youth Trust Chief Executive Officer • Voluntary Sector • Medway DAAT • Police • YOT • Teenage pregnancy co-ordinator • PCT • Housing service manager • Children’s social care – IAT service manager • Sports development manager • Ignite manager • Commissioning Manager • AD Inclusion

  3. Priorities • Not in education employment or training (NEETs) • Homelessness • Teenage pregnancy • Places to go things to do • Youth crime • Targeted support – identification, prevention and intervention

  4. What’s all this about anyway? • The board have met 3 times • Connections and grasping the enormity of the task • How? When? Who? • Communication and understanding – growing and will become embedded

  5. Commissioning • Different levels of understanding • Budgets and decisions – how it is now will not be how it remains • Commissioning reviews MAY be painful • Provider / commissioner split is not ‘pure’

  6. And now…. • IYSS action plan to monitor • Review cycle • Build and extend existing good partnership working – in spite of budget decisions
