I met the artist of this piece, and she let me take a picture of her next to her chef-d’oeuvre. Her piece appealed to me because it represents the insides of each and every one of us. We all go through different experiences, but tied by our common organism.
This was my favorite piece because I felt that it represented authentic coercion. The hands reveal the pressure and pain this young girl is going through. It seems as if, she has had enough of all her pain and hardships. I think that this piece spoke to me because I believe that beneath every one of us, there is this depiction, that this girl’s pain and troubles exists in all of us; maybe deep down inside, but it will emerge one day, somehow.
I sincerely liked this picture because it somehow reminded me of my sister, who looks exactly like me (even though we’re not twins). The knot in their hair depicts the bond that my sister and I have, this bridge to our souls. This photograph is a candid and beautiful picture.
Some more pictures taken by me to display to the world (well, my blog)…
