  2. ER:YAG LASER – THE FUTURE OF DENTISTRY • Physics of laser light • Laser – tissue interaction • Laser device • Clinical application of Er:YAG laser in dentistry • Clinical cases

  3. Er:YAG LASER EFFECTS ON TISSUE Fisical characteristics of the laser light: • Reflection, scattering, transmission, absorption Effects on tissue: • Photothermal effects • Warming • Coagulation, tissue shrinkage, hemostasis • Vaporization, ablation, carbonization • Photoacoustic effect • Photochemical effects • Biostimulation

  4. COMPREHENSIVE CASES Er:YAG LiteTouch, Syneron, ST, 0,4mm tip, 100mJ/10 Hz • Plan of Therapy: • Causal Therapy • Initial periodontal therapy • Er:YAG laser treatment ofPPD>3 mm (CH 150mJ/10Hz; 0,6mm tip 50mJ/30Hz) • Basics Reconstructive Therapy: • gingivectomy, Er:YAGlaser (0,4 mm tip, 100mJ/10Hz) • Tooth extraction (22 и 26), • Endodontic treatments, • Reconstructive therapy : aesthetic-prosthetic solution with • Porcelain fused to metal bridges(13-24,25-27 и 44-47) • Occlusion check up • Recall • Problem list: • Periodontal • Insufficient prosthetics • Aesthetics • Problem list according to patient: • Aesthetics

  5. COMPREHENSIVE CASES • Терапија • Causal Therapy • Initial periodontal therapy • Er:YAG laser treatment ofPPD>3 mm (CH 150mJ/10Hz; 0,6mm tip 50mJ/30Hz) • Reconstructive therapy : aesthetic-prosthetic solution with • Full porcelain crowns on teeth No 11 and 21 • Porcelain fused to metal bridges (12-16 and 42-46) • Occlusion check up • Er:YAG laser caries removal/insufficient fillings removal (1,3 mm tip, 300mJ/20Hz) • Recall • Problem list: • Periodontal • Caries/erosions • Insufficient prosthetics • Aesthetics • Problem list according to patient: • / • / • Prosthetics and function • Aesthetis

  6. WHY Er:YAG LASER ?

  7. Treatment setting – • • Select Soft Tissue- no water • Energy – 50 [mJ] • Frequency – 10 [Hz] • • Choose treatment tip – Wide ,Narrow, Long and Short ((longer tip for decreasing the energy application, narrow tip for a • smaller lesion treatment) • 2-3 passes • Short (no more than 1-2 seconds) lasing, across the target area and not hold on one spot. Before and 10 days after
