  2. Energy and climate counseling The municipal energy and climate advisors in Sweden answer questions about heating, energy costs, energy efficiency, transport, climate, governmental energy grants and much more, at no cost.

  3. Energy and climate counseling The Swedish Energy Agency coordinates the energy and climate advisors The municipal energy and climate advisors reach 200 000 Swedes every year Yearly budget: € 14 000 000 (energy and climate advisors + regional energy offices)

  4. Why energy and climate advisors? To reduce the use of energy and increase the share of renewables. To inspire and help people make environmentally and economically sound choices. There are many opportunities to save energy, and households as well as enterprises can achieve significant change through simple measures.

Typical questions from the public, communities and companies • Heat pump - ”What type?” • Help with high electricity consumption • District heating • Types of solar panels available • Ventilation • Energy declaration • Insulation • Grants/subsidies • Information about alternative heating systems

  6. Energy and climate counseling Example 1 The client has a 12 year old log boiler with copper coils and exhaust ventilation. It was suggested to replace the wood boiler and install heat recovery systems. These measures were implemented with positive results. Example 2 A community center contacted the energy and climate advisor about having high electricity consumption, despite heating with wood pellets. The advisor visited the center and suggested a number of improvements, including better insulation, turning off the electrical back-up boiler during the summer, and change from circulator pump to variable speed pump. Some of the suggested changes were implemented.
