WA Clan Lab Notification Process Geoff Harcombe – Pesticide Safety Coordinator On Call Officer HEAT Environmental Health Directorate Emergency Response Team (EHDERT)
After we receive the Pager Alert from OCDO • Contact by phone and interrogate duty WAPOL Officer, re Notification Checklist • Ask questions about anything unusual on the site • Make sure the coordinates for bush lab make sense • Are the premises still occupied, could there be a problem • Scan Notification form and save copy to hard drive • When sending out notifications via e-mail ensure all service agencies are included with confirmation of delivery (read confirmation might be necessary) • Request in body of e-mail response from agencies within 24 hrs of receipt otherwise we will come looking for you (LG, Housing and DER) • If for some reason Housing HQ is not responding then contact regional office, ccHQ in on original e-mail • DER Officer will instruct which e-mail address to send through Notification • Sometimes two agencies may be involved tho one may be for info purposes • EHD admin support will undertake follow-up emails and data-basing • Requests for further advice best directed to EHD rather than DOH on call officer
