“Transformation…” “There is, and will likely continue to be, gross spiritual darkness in the world. Our goal is not to make a new heaven and a new earth, but rather to create salty spots on the earth that stimulate a thirst for God. Like many salty appetizers, these temporal transformations point the way to a larger, more satisfying meal to come.” Inter. Fellowship of Transformational Partners Definitions & Values

A City Transformation“Elevator Speech” Our objective— To mobilize a united, praying Body of Christ to leverage a sustained kingdom influence that touches all spheres of local culture and results in measurable societal impact. “A chosen people, a royal priesthood, a people belonging to God (1 Pe 2:9) walking & working together to— -- proclaim the gospel (good news) -- demonstrate Jesus’ compassion (good deeds)
A Core Question How does a city-reaching movement strengthen relationships and partnerships between its diversity of kingdom assets (pastors, non-profits, intercessors, marketplace, compassion ministries, emerging leaders) to labor together towards a sustained release of kingdom leaven that results in societal transformation?
City Transformation Streams We are clearly in a season where a holistic kingdom paradigm of transformational change is emerging. What is Required for the Gospel toPenetrate a Community? • Theological Vision– a compelling, broadly shared vision that articulates the mission of the Body of Christ to reach the city. • “Gospel Ecosystem:” a self-propagating cadre of leaders, institutions & networks collaborating on kingdom advance. • Revival: the supernatural, sovereign working of the Holy Spirit to awaken the Church and redeem the lost. (Redeemer City to City, 2010)
Indicators of a Gospel Movement • Growth of Christian Community: conversion rate outpaces overall population growth. • Healthier marriages & families • Increase of social well-being: racial harmony, lower crime, economic equity • Redeemed culture: education, media and the arts honor godly principles & human dignity • Economic stewardship: more Christians utilize wealth for kingdom endeavors. (Redeemer City to City 2010)
A Threefold Mission • To increase the percentage of Jesus followers in Middle Tennessee compared to the general population growth by collaboratively sharing the good news and doing good works (1 Pe. 2:4-12). • To incarnate social justice by caring for the needs of the poor, marginalized and exploited (Is. 58; Mt. 25:44-46). • To release the leaven of kingdom influence into all spheres (domains) of societal activity, resulting in measurable transformation of both individuals and institutions (Jer. 29:7).
